Corporate disclosure of climate – related information

The Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) entered to force on 5 January 2023 and requires all large companies, as well as all listed companies (except listed mice-enterprises), to disclose information on the risks and potential opportunities in the social and environmental issues that could impact people and activities.
As many as 50.000 companies in total could be required to report on sustainability.
The new set of rules from the CSRD will ensure investors and all other stakeholders access the information they need to assess investment risks from sustainability issues and climate change perspectives. The first companies under the CSRD jurisdiction will have to apply the new rules for the 2024 financial year, with the report being published in 2025.
Companies under CRSD jurisdiction will have to report according to European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS). The CSRD also makes It mandatory for companies to have an audit on the key elements of sustainability report.
